The Empower Me curriculum was created by the the Jacob Wetterling Foundation in partnership the the Gundersen National Child Protection Training Center to provide children with important education on personal safely and help kids learn how to recognize warning signals and identify unsafe people.
The program follows a six session curriculum with each session focusing on a different safety topic. Topics include: identifying feelings, recognizing your safety net, secrets vs. surprises, trusting your gut reactions, and healthy touches. Each children’s group will be facilitated by a qualified Sexual Assault Program staff member who will adjust the material and presentation strategy to meet the ages and development level of the group.
