Forensic Evidence in a Sexual Assault Case - June 2014

The Bureau of Criminal Apprehension Presents: The Collection of Forensic Evidence in a Sexual Assault Case JOIN US for a training session facilitated by BCA Forensic Scientist Jessica Weber Ms. Weber has her Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Biology and currently works in the Nuclear DNA Laboratory. She is the BCA liaison with SANE Nurses and has also facilitated trainings with Law Enforcement, Prosecution and Advocates. These are the five (5) available times for the same three (3) hour training Thursday June 26th, 2014 Friday June 27th, 2014 Session 1 - 8:00am – 11:00am Session 4 – 8am – 11:00am Session 2 – 12:30pm – 3:30pm Session 5 – 12:30pm – 3:30pm Session 3 – 4:00pm – 7:00pm Within each of session, Ms. Weber will discuss the Sexual Assault Evidence Collection Kit, its’ procedures and the processing done at the BCA lab. Each training will explore the relationship between the forensic exam completed at the hospital and the forensic exams processed in the laboratory; including a synopsis on DNA analysis methods and results. Our goal is to provide a clear insight into the evidence collection process thus delivering a victim-centered response and high quality of care to survivors of sexual violence.
